About Mortar

Mortar is a tracker for home renovation, energy retrofit and self-build projects in Ireland. It keeps the project in one place: items still being decided, decisions made, contacts, documents, and expenses.

It is built for professionals managing client projects and for homeowners running complex work themselves, including building a new house. It covers sequencing, SEAI grants, planning and building control, tender negotiation, and chasing the right people at the right time.

AI suggestions

When you ask for them, Mortar can suggest ranked next steps from your project state and a maintained set of Irish grant, planning and building-control rules. Suggestions stay suggestions until you accept, edit, or dismiss them. Mortar is decision support, not a substitute for professional advice or SEAI.

Privacy & AI processing

Some features send relevant excerpts of your project data to an external AI model provider, solely to produce the result you asked for. That covers generating next steps, drafting replies, reading a pasted email thread, and analysing an uploaded PDF. Nothing is generated without you triggering it.

Mortar does not store raw prompts or model responses beyond what the feature needs. Usage is rate-limited to keep the service sustainable.
